Junior Technical Support Engineer

The Junior Technical Support Engineer will join a dynamic team responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the Engineering and IT function, crucially supporting the Post Production Department. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implements and maintains post-production systems throughout the company
  • Responsible for the day-to-day preventative and reactive maintenance as well as technical installations throughout the company
  • Identifies areas for improvement within the technology used by the company, either through new technological developments or improvements to current systems 
  • Proactively seeks out security opportunities within the systems we use to ensure the ultimate protection of the client’s intellectual property
  • Responsible for using the helpdesk system (and other software tools and systems), creating and closing tickets appropriately and delivering within agreed SLAs 
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of Post Production Technology 
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure that their technology needs are met. 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Comprehensive Understanding of Video and Audio Post-Production: Demonstrate proficiency in the intricacies of video and audio post-production processes, encompassing a detailed understanding of each stage. Stay abreast of advancements in technology to leverage new effects and techniques, ensuring the ability to deliver high-quality output efficiently
  • Industry Experience and Post-Production Technology Expertise: Some experience within the post-production industry, coupled with an understanding of post-production technology and workflows. Proficient in leveraging industry-standard tools and software to streamline processes and optimise workflow efficiency
  • Familiarity with Operating Systems: Some proficiency in Windows, Mac OS, and Linux system design, implementation, and administration. Ability to navigate and troubleshoot issues within these environments to support post-production operations effectively
  • Understanding of Data Storage Systems: Knowledgeable in the design, implementation, and administration of data storage systems relevant to post-production workflows. Capable of managing storage solutions to ensure seamless access to media assets and data integrity
  • Scripting Skills for Workflow Enhancement and Security: Basic proficiency in scripting languages to develop enhancements for post-production workflows and strengthen security measures within post-production teams. Ability to automate repetitive tasks and customise workflows to meet specific project requirements
  • Familiarity with Industry-Standard Post-Production Systems: Some familiarity with software tools such as Baselight, Flame, Media Composer, ProTools, and other systems commonly utilised in film and TV post-production. Ability to navigate and utilise these tools to support various aspects of the post-production process effectively.
